4 David F. Monroe, 76, of Trivoli, IL passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. David was born at his grandparent’s home in Hanna City, IL on November 30, 1938 to Eloise (Thrush) and James F. Monroe.

David married Jean Capron at the Farmington Methodist Church on March 13, 1960. They celebrated 55 years of marriage and Jean survives. Also surviving is his brother, James J. (Midge) Monroe of Hortonville, WI; son Kevin (Catherine) Monroe of Ames, IA; daughter Kathy (Jon) Frank of Farmington, IL; grandchildren, Zachary and Brianna Monroe and Nicole and Melissa Zeglen.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

David attended Hanna City Grade School and graduated from Farmington High School in 1956. He graduated from the Caterpillar Tractor Company four year apprentice course and retired a Buyer in the Caterpillar Purchasing Department after 42 years of service in 1998.

David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to hunt, fish, and woodwork. He was a member of the Trivoli United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, October 30, 2015 at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL. Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Trivoli United Methodist Church in Trivoli, IL where a visitation will be one hour prior. Pastor Bob DeBolt will be officiating. Burial will follow at Trivoli Cemetery in Trivoli, IL. Memorials may be made to Trivoli United Methodist Church or OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home. HANNA CITY - Eloise Monroe , 92, of Kountry View Retirement Home, 533 Brad Court in Hanna City, Ill., passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at 6:05 a.m. at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Ill.

She was born Oct. 25, 1918, to David and Elizabeth (Coon) Thrush in Hanna City, Ill., where she resided all of her life.

She graduated from Farmington High School.

She married James Franklin Monroe on Feb. 6, 1937. He died Jan. 17, 2002.

Eloise is survived by two sons, David (Jean) Monroe of Trivoli and James (Midge) Monroe of Hortonville, Wis. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin (Catherine) Monroe of Ames, Iowa, Kathy (Jon) Frank of Farmington, Robert (Carleen) Monroe of Green Bay, Wis., and Elizabeth Monroe of Hortonville, Wis.; six great-grandchildren, Nicole and Melissa Zeglen of Farmington, Zachary and Brianna Monroe of Ames, Iowa, and Jacob and Kyle Monroe of Green Bay, Wis.

Her parents and one sister, Nadine Jensen, preceded her in death.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Eloise was an 80-year member of the Hanna City United Methodist Church, having joined at the age of 13 in 1931.

She was a Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout den mother, a member of the Methodist W.S.C.S. and helped with the annual church turkey supper.

She was a member of the Eastern Stars.

Her hobby was quilting and she had made quilts for her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 17, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Hanna City United Methodist Church, with services following at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Limestone Cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Hanna City United Methodist Church or the Logan-Trivoli Fire Department.

Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington is in charge of arrangements.
