Mary Birdsall

Mary (Danzi) Birdsall got her wish to be with God on March 15, 2016.

Mary was born on July 3, 1915, to Antonio and Donata (Civita) Danzi. She grew up in Oneonta, NY, and was predeceased by all eight of her brothers.

Mary was a member of the first graduating class of St Mary’s School in 1929 and graduated from Oneonta High School in 1933.

Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Oneonta and a member of the choir. She started singing in 7th grade. Mary did solos at the Church for special events such as weddings and funerals as well as participating in several musicals in the community.… Read the rest

Mrs. Zerviah Birdsall

BINGHAMTON–Mrs. Zerviah Birdsall died Tuesday night at 8 o’clock at her home, 114 Laurel avenue. She is survived by her husband, William O. Birdsall; two daughters, Mrs. Clermont Covert of Albany and Miss Harriett L Birdsall of this city, and a brother, A O Barnes of, Gilbertsville. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at her home. Burial will be In Floral Park cemetery. Friends are asked to omit flowers.

Charles R. Danner, Sr

Charles R. Danner, Senior, of Norcross, Georgia, died August 13, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Opal Danner, sons Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Danner, Junior of Lawrenceville Georgia, and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis A. Danner of Roanoke, Georgia. Four grandchildren and one great grandchild. National Cremation Society in charge of arrangements.

Hayes R. Dalton, Jr.

Hayes R. Dalton, 50, Commerce Boulevard, Mound, died Wednesday. Services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday at Bethel Methodist Church, Mound, With Burial in Union Cemetery, Mound. Mr. Dalton was president of Apex Gear Company and formerly owned the Dalton Gear Company. He Also Owned the Mound Casino. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Chicago, the Zurah Temple, and the Minnetonka Shrine club. The review will start today at Seifert’s Mortuary, Mound.

William F. Traynor

WILLIAM F. TRAYNOR

FARMINGTON– Funeral services for William F. Traynor, 69, who died Monday evening in the home of his sister, Mrs. Eliza Williams, Peoria, will be conducted at the Anderson Funeral Home in Farmington Thursday afternoon at 1:30 PM with the Rev. Guy Longenbaugh of the Hannah City Methodist Church officiating. Burial is to follow in Smithville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.

Albert Traynor

ALBERT TRAYNOR

EAST GALESBURG–Albert Traynor, 81, of 203 E. 4th St., died Tuesday at 2:15 PM at cottage Hospital, Galesburg. He was born November 19, 1890 at Pittsburg, Kentucky. He married the former Anna Baxter March 17, 1911, at Canton. She died in 1961. He was a retired coalminer.

He is survived by a son Glen, East Peoria; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Bertha) McCoy and Mrs. Cliff (Bernice) Lufkin, both of East Galesburg, and Mrs. Ralph (Beatrice) Bailey, Oquawka; a brother Charles Traynor, Peoria; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Charles Roy Traynor, Sr.

Charles R. Traynor Sr., 73, a resident of 607 Jackson since 1928, died at 1:45 A.M. yesterday (04 Jun 1977) at Highview Nursing Center where he was admitted May 25.

He was born at St. Charles, Mich., March 11, 1904, a son of Patrick and Lacey Ann Rice Traynor, and married Mildred D. Lonsdale at Hanna City on April 15, 1922.

They moved to Peoria six years later and he owned and operated the ABC Laundry on Jackson St. 11 years.  Then he worked 19 years for the Peoria Board of Education, having charge of the laundry for physical education classes. … Read the rest

Thomas H. Lonsdale

Thomas H. Lonsdale, 90, of 903 S. Adams St., retired farmer and coal miner, died at 6:30 PM at his home after a prolonged illness.  He lived in Peoria 25 years.  Born Nov. 17, 1860, he was a son of Henry and Ann Lonsdale, and married Lillian Manville in 1884.  She died some time ago.  Mr Lonsdale had been active in Pottstown Methodist Church and was one of the congregation instrumental in building the new church some years ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Neva Middleton and Mrs. Charles Traynor, both of Peoria; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  Funeral services are set for 10 AM Friday at Cumerford-Endsley memorial home, and interment will be in Limestone Cemetery. … Read the rest

Mildred D. Traynor

FORT MYERS, FLA. – Mildred D. Traynor, 86, formerly of Peoria, died Thursday (Nov. 30, 1989) in Fort Myers, Fla. where she had lived since 1978.

Born Oct 9, 1903, in Pottstown to Thomas H. and Lillian L. Manville Lonsdale, she married Charles Roy Traynor on April 15, 1922, in Hanna City.  He died June 4, 1977, in Peoria.

Two daughters, one brother and one sister also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Charles R. Traynor, Jr., of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Opal A.) Danner of Fort Myers, with whom she made her home; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.… Read the rest

Verl Edna Thrush

Verl Edna Thrush, 90, of Louisa passed away at her home on Saturday, August 13, 2011. She was born November 8, 1920, in Forrest, Illinois to the late W. Edward and C. Ella Bollier Metz. Mrs. Thrush was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Louisa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Thrush, and her brother, Vern Metz of Bloomington, Illinois.

W. Edward Metz

W. Edward Metz, 69, of Forrest, IL, died at 9:05 PM Thursday at Fairbury Hospital, Fairbury, where he had been a patient for one day.  Mr. Metz collapsed while walking on a street here at 11 AM Wednesday and had been in critical condition with a heart ailment at the hospital.  He was brought to the Culkin Funeral Home.  Arrangements are incomplete.

Ruth M. Thrush

The funeral service for Mrs. Ruth M. Thrush, 69, of 2203 W. Starr St., co-owner of the Yale Hotel and the former Arion Hotel until 1955, will be at 1 PM Friday at the Endsley & Son Funeral Home, 1417 S. Stanley Street.  Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery.  The Rev. Scot Huson, Howett Street Christian Church, will officiate.  Friends may call from 4-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Hannah Thrush

Mrs. Hannah Thrush, 89, widow of William J. Thrush and the oldest resident of Hanna City, died today.  She had lived in Peoria County for 85 years, being born in England.  Surviving are 4 daughters, three sons, 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Smithville Cemetery.

Marcella Mary Thrush
