Charles R. Traynor Sr., 73, a resident of 607 Jackson since 1928, died at 1:45 A.M. yesterday (04 Jun 1977) at Highview Nursing Center where he was admitted May 25.

He was born at St. Charles, Mich., March 11, 1904, a son of Patrick and Lacey Ann Rice Traynor, and married Mildred D. Lonsdale at Hanna City on April 15, 1922.

They moved to Peoria six years later and he owned and operated the ABC Laundry on Jackson St. 11 years.  Then he worked 19 years for the Peoria Board of Education, having charge of the laundry for physical education classes.  He retired in 1969.

Mr. Traynor was a member of First United Methodist Church, a more than 40-year member of Peoria Aerie 265, FOE, and a member of the Peoria Historical Society.

He was vice president of Peoria Mineral Springs, which he and his son Charles R. Traynor Jr., were in the process of restoring.

Surviving are his wife; his son, Charles R. Jr., of Peoria; one daughter, Mrs. Charles R. (Opal Ann) Danner of Plainfield, Ind; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Two daughters, Neva Jean and an infant, and 12 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.  Services will be at 10:30 A.M. tomorrow at Cumerford-Endley Memorial Home.  The Rev. Merle J. Williams of Edwards will officiate.  Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the memorial home from 3 to 7 P.M. today.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
